Light Language is my medium. For me, Light Language is, first and foremost, sound.
When verbal language and rational thought temporarily recede, emotions, atmospheres, tensions, and inner feelings that have not yet been given names begin to flow naturally through the body, the breath, and the voice.
The “light” I refer to here is not a mystical light. It is closer to awareness—the capacity to see my actual inner state in the present moment.
And “language,” for me, does not refer only to verbal language. I prefer to understand it as awareness revealing itself outwardly through sound.
I can often hear changes in my inner state through the sound itself. It does not need to be translated, nor does it need a fixed meaning. Many times, before I know what I want to express, the sound has already begun to flow.
The walker is where I stand. I do not place myself in the position of someone who already has the answers.
I would rather be a walker—someone still on the path, continually drawing closer to myself, observing, testing, and learning through experience.
I explore sound and body; relation and awareness; and questions so familiar that we often pass them by without truly stopping to face them:
Light Language appeared naturally in my life, and I increasingly find that, for me, it is more than a vocal capacity. It is becoming one of the paths through which I come to know life.
Zephyra is my way. The name comes from Zephyr.
Zephyr means the west wind, and is often used for a gentle, light breeze carrying a sense of spring. I am drawn to the image of wind.
Wind has no fixed form, yet it can pass through different spaces. It occupies nothing, yet it arrives. It does not need to force anything to happen; it passes through, and something may begin to tremble.
This is close to how I understand sound. I love sound. It can pass through the body, move between people, and cross boundaries of language, culture, and identity. For me, it does not always need to be fully understood before it can be heard and felt.
The path I am walking is also the one I wish for.
It begins with sound, yet it does not end there. I hope more people can reclaim their own freely flowing voice, and that Light Language, as an artistic practice, can eventually reach wider artistic spaces.
Light Language helped me break through the constraints of language. The voice became freer, and feelings that had no words finally found a way to move outward. Light Language is the name I give to my own path of vocal exploration, but the freedom to voice oneself belongs to everyone. I believe this capacity already exists within each person, and I hope more people can discover a freely flowing voice that is uniquely their own.
May Light Language be encountered not only as a spiritual phenomenon, but also as sound, improvisation, narrative, and live art. May it enter music and the stage, contemporary art centers, galleries, museums, and public spaces—and reach more real people and real lives.
From here, each step is to arise from the present, new each time. I hope that as my practice deepens and the right conditions gather, this voice may one day sound in an old opera house—where sky and earth, ancient and contemporary, history and the present can meet, and this ancient ground can receive a sound born through the light of awareness.
